Are you a distributor or representative for a network marketing or party-plan business that sells essential oils? I was once but it didn’t work out for me for several reasons. One thing I had a hard time with was making an essential oil party/class/event fun. What usually happened was that after I opened up a few essential oils the guests got so relaxed they could hardly keep their eyes opened! Do you have trouble keeping your aromatherapy demonstrations interesting? “Interesting” might not be the right word, because learning bout essential oils is fascinating. Maybe I should rephrase that…How do you keep your guests alert? Or, how do you make it fun? I would love to hear how you do your parties and I am sure there are many distributors that would also like to read about how other representatives party.
I even did a search on Pinterest for party ideas but didn’t get much. Maybe people think it is some kind of secret as to how to host a successful event. The truth is that the basic steps to hosting a demo/party for any home-party-plan or network marketing business is pretty much the same.
1. Invite guests.
2. Get all your stuff ready:
a. Brochures, magazines, flyers, catalogs, order blanks, pens, etc.
b. Essential oils, products, testers, prizes, incentives, hostess gifts etc.
c. Food and drinks
d. Your calendar/day planner
e. Do not forget to have some way to collect names and emails!!
f. Visual aids, decorations
3. Plan what you are going to say and do.
4. Remind guests to come and bring a friend.
5. Go there, or clean your house, if you are doing it at home.
6. Set up.
7. Do your presentation. Thank your hostess.
8. Take orders.
9. Clean up.
10. Go home, unless you are home already.
11. Make follow up contact, phone, email, or handwritten note. (Very Important)
